Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
Yesterday I found out that a thing was due yesterday that I thought was due on Tuesday. So I had to spend this morning doing it so I could turn it in today. And I have a lot of homework and so many projects and I have too many things to do...
Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
:/ I have a paper to do for next week as well. November and March are the worst months for school. If only NaNoWriMo was during a less crazy month.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
My feet are in ridiculous amounts of pain. I have several blisters on each, and yesterday they were swollen. Why? I got the ridiculous idea to walk to the next town (not SO crazy, since we're in the teeniest town I have ever seen), but we walked at least 8 km, maybe more, going and coming... wearing my too small boots and VERY warm socks, which I took off, which led to the boots scraping against the back of my heel. Oi. Someone hit me if I ever get that idea, with those clothes, again. =/

I think I need to stop being clever... I only end up alienating people and being disliked for it. *sigh*

My disgusting roommate managed to plug the sink's drain and the toilet... I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, I hate him...
I'm the one who had to make a maintenance request because he won't fix his own bloody messes! Disgusting bastard...
(Please excuse my cursing...)

Nayaby, your personality is just fine. The appropriate people will gravitate towards you(maybe, I can't remember if I decided I believed in that or not).
...Mother of Vot. How'd he manage that? Does he contribute anything to the rommateship(other than the obligatory rent and pledge to band together in the event of a zombie apocalypse, of course).

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
It's crunch time in my classes. Just about an exact month to the end of the semester and it looks like it's gonna be a ROLLERCOASTER from here on out.
Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
I did bad on a test and a quiz and I feel like **** because I'm shallow like that and have lots of homework over Thanksgiving (worst holiday next to Valentine's day) break....

I too am losing my mind >_<
Make all the horrible work stop...
Also, my right bottom eyelid has started twitching. Google says twitching eyelids can be caused by sleep deprivation and stress. And sleep deprivation and stress are definitely the most probably cause. I steer clear away from WebMD. No bizarre exotic diseases for me!

I, too, speak the language of 'too much work over Thanksgiving break'
All my projects are due next week. HALP.
But if I'm alive on December 7th, I'm all good and can celebrate. Only finals are after that, and those will be no problem after all the projects, it feels like...

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
In fact, I might just be super sporadic around here until December seventh. I'll lurk around, but the projects, the projects...the presentations and papers and aaaaaaaaahhhh *is dragged away to a corner of everlasting homework*

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
I've got one!
There's this song, you see, called Gloomy Sunday. Apparently it was so horribly depressing that 18 people killed themselves after reading it.
Of course, this was in Hungary around the time of WW2, and at that time they had the highest suicide rate in the world. Was apparently a very depressing place.
Anyhow, I've listened to it, have not died, and decided I actually like it. Really, its almost cheery.

Its about a guy who invites his lover to his own funeral, because he killed himself, because she's dead. Depressing basis, but the tune is too up-beat to be depressing itself. Also, he sounds happy.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
This is officially the worst week of the semester. I have a gazillion movies ready to watch while I study to alleviate the pain, but aaaaaaah.
I just have so much homework. It's just unbelievable.
Must. Survive. Through. Saturday.

Hear that crazy piece? I have to perform the solo part in a month and a half.
For a competition.
I've only been working on it for a little over a month.
WHYYWORLDWHYY!!!!

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
I have to write an essay about Odysseus' epic and frail traits in part one, and it's the only difference between me passing and failing (Ninth Grade?)* Honors English this semester.
OHOHOHOHO. Challenge not accepted, commodore!
Normally, I suppose, it would be a task I would be somewhat qualified enough for, but it has to be in the "Jane Schaefer" format of concrete detail, followed by two commentary pieces, or something like that. And for some reason, I'm rather dreadful at it. So. There we go.
*weeps using fingers because crying on command is difficult*
*I don't even know the rules to capitalizing my classes. Wowie wow.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
Odysseus? HE'S LIKE MY FAVORITE.
You want assistance? I've never heard of this format you speak of...but if you need to bounce ideas off of someone...
EDIT: Just looked it up. Weird. Anyway, seriously. I could read it and give you feedback or something...

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
If you do put any parts of your essay up for feedback, make sure to do it in some way that isn't going to be read by Google or something -- on account of, it'd be really awkward if you're teacher thinks you plagiarized your entire essay off of some random person on the internet called "Zip".
I'd also be willing to give feedback, even though I'm not really the best at doing essays myself.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
The Odyssey!
I can't say how many times I had to type that before getting it right. Odyssey is a confusing word xP
I enjoyed the Odyssey much more than the Iliad. My favourite classical literature would have to be the works of Sophocles though. Oedipus and Antigone are two of the best. Mostly, I just like the character Tiresias. He's the first "blind seer" archetype as far as I'm aware.
