The proper way to deal with door-to-door salesman is to make sure they don't reach the door.
Oh and yes, 1984 is great.
My English teacher always gives us books where everyone dies, or at least the main character dies. Or, rarely, everyone except the main character dies.
Regardless, there is always a lot of death.
Frankenstein, 1984, Catch-22 (well, most died), Things Fall Apart, The Stranger, and various others.

Ooh! L'Étranger by Albert Camus? That was a great book as well!

I like Huck Finn and To Kill A Mockingbird a lot (of popular banned books). I'm not so fond of the dystopia types. Dystopias just aren't my thing.
Re: Off Topic Generalities
The Giver is also an amazing book.

I feel so weird and tech-savvy now with my new job. I went to a garageband class, am watching videos on using photoshop and word, I even have a twitter handle now (xD). So weird.
Re: Off Topic Generalities
EDIT: I'm a bit tired. Wrong place. Shall post it on the write thread now...

I'm in no way attacking TKAM here, but I do think the Hunger Games series did have some good points about the priorities of today's era. Something like how we care more about reality shows, rather than the suffering of our fellow humans in far-off countries. Something like that. I only briefly read through the series in middle school. It didn't stick with me that much, after the series attracted an almost Twilight like fandom.
There's something more to it than Battle Royale with teenagers, though.
...I'm positive. Mostly.

You've always been making Orwellian references. Nayaby's favorite school-assigned book has always been 1984.

We've always been on Spiced Toast and Other Stories. Meteor Games never existed. Glory to Spiced Toast!

Bit of a scare that Forumotion was down for most of the day. For a moment I thought that Spiced Toast was history! Then I realized that all forums hosted by Forumotion were down. Heh.

Oh. Well, the forum for Star Ponies, my guild in The Old Republic, was also down.
I haven't actually been subscribed to TOR since the early summer actually. It goes free-to-play in November though, so I'll probably start playing again then. Just not worth $15 a month :/

I just finished a mafia game with the internet group I hang out with now. It reminded me of the good times we had.

Haha, her voice sounds undead!
I would watch a cooking show hosted by a zombie.
Cervelle a la tarte citron!
That would be a lemony brain pie ^_^

Qwee! (... That was initially "Dwee", but I somehow hit the 'Q' instead...)
I love ViHart! She is so-cool. And, mathy.
"It is imperfect, because it is not delicious."
*watches a few more ViHart videos*
... Is it bad that I'm practically melting listening to her geek out?
