*looks longingly at his open two-story high window because he can't figure out how to double space on this new word processor*

Re: Off Topic Generalities
There's no formatting tool for that? Every word processor must be able to double space. When in doubt, hit random buttons until something good happens! This is how I was finally able to play FFX and FFX-2 on my computer (totally legally *shifty eyes*). But be warned, this is also how I wasn't able to finish FFX-2, because I hit too many buttons and imploded something or other. Stupid emulator won't emulate anymore... runs at 50% fps and skips frames, rendering everything unplayable. This was right after I had that graphics bug, where my screen kept flickering, which was probably also related to the emulator. A total reset of the program didn't help either, but FFX-2 wasn't very good, so I didn't mind not finishing. I finished Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, and the mid-quel, as well as FFX.
How did that happen? I just started typing, and didn't stop to think about what I was typing. When you do that, random rants tend to occur.
Also, waffles.
I had actually typed 'Also, pancakes' but I deleted that and changed it to waffles because waffles are better.
Also pancakes.
Just so nobody can accuse me of picking sides.

Re: Off Topic Generalities
Pff. This silliness between America and Canada about 'real' thanksgiving. Thanksgiving doesn't have to be on only one day of the year...
Wouldn't it be so weird if there was eventually a worldwide thanksgiving day? We could steal the date from some old civilization's holiday traditions, that's really the best way to do these things.

Re: Off Topic Generalities
Haha, it's not that I actually think Canadian Thanksgiving is "real" Thanksgiving. I just like making fun of America, just like most of the world that isn't America does.
Random Fun Fact: Did you know Tom and Jerry, the fantastic cat and mouse duo, were originally named Jasper and Jinx?

Even Americans make fun of America. In a loving, exasperated way of course.
Weird. Jasper and Jinx is kind of cool, though. Nice ring to it. Which was the cat and which was the mouse?

Re: Off Topic Generalities
Tom/Jasper is the cat, and Jerry/Jinx is the mouse. Tom and Jerry were my childhood. I found the original cartoon online! It's much better than the original Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie. I watched Steamboat Willie out of curiosity... and it was... pointless.

Re: Off Topic Generalities
I sort of liked Tom and Jerry, but I thought they were too mean to each other...so I felt bad a lot for them when I watched the cartoon. xD
I kind of like Looney Toons best, with the more...um...how shall I say...flippant humor. Bugs Bunny is kinda my hero. I wish I had his charisma and blatant, charmingly offensive cheekiness.

Re: Off Topic Generalities
I feel like we've had this conversation before! Where you said you prefer Sylvester and Tweety over Tom and Jerry. And so the circle of life continues...
Tom and Jerry are mean to each other, but they're also best friends. Tom seems like he's trying to eat Jerry, but they're actually just playing a complicated game of 'tag'. Yes, this is established canon that is revealed in one episode. They've teamed up numerous times, and aren't always trying to kill each other.
In any case, Tom and Jerry is the show my parents sat down to watch with me as a child, so I'm more emotionally invested in it than Looney Toons. Don't get me wrong, I like Looney Toons too. But it's not the same as Tom and Jerry.

Re: Off Topic Generalities
Hey, did anyone see the new James Bond movie? That was some good movieness. Really good movieness. Like, probably one of my favorite Bond films now.
Re: Off Topic Generalities
To be totally honest, I'm not the biggest James Bond fan so the new movie hasn't exactly been high on my list. But I've been hearing good things about this one, so I'll probably see it relatively soon. However, I also heard good things about Casino Royale, and I found that movie boring.

Re: Off Topic Generalities
I adored Casino Royale (I can't get enough of suave poker playing intrigue films) but I found Quantum of Solace really boring. So Skyfall was nice, after that one.
Re: Off Topic Generalities
I can't mention Skyfall without someone in the background singing the theme. This is the world I'm living in.
And I'm sort of glad.

Is anyone interested in applying to be my nemesis?

Maturity is a flawed concept. Also, I am going to wear my skull and crossbones earrings.
I'm not a TA. My very for real job is actually teaching/training people to use various software. College students. Very exciting.
It's actually a fantastic job. The pay is great, and I get to mess around with computers all the time and keep up to date with the latest in awesome technology.
BUT I'M STILL REALLY NERVOUS

Re: Off Topic Generalities
I'm so close to the end of the semester now. So close. I can almost taste victory. Just one or two more slogs...and then I'll be done. Next survival goal: Thursday! And then nothing but finals!
Re: Off Topic Generalities
Sorry I've been away for the past week. The final stretch before finals begin is hurting me... xP

Nothing to do with anything, but you remind me of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, also known as Vader's Fist.
